We sought to quantify and compare the impacts of different nonstate, market-driven governance approaches to ending the conversion of natural forests to plantations. In particular, we evaluated the impacts of FSC, CERTFOR (a member of the PEFC) and a voluntary agreement between NGOs and timber companies (Joint Solutions Project).
